Needs Improvement

Upon checking in, was sold an upgrade to a "quieter room overlooking courtyard" courtyard turned out to be a parking lot under construction. Was given a password for 1 hour free internet, but then charged for internet use upon check out. Attendant who spoke perfectly good english the day before became rude and suddenly didnt understand my objection. No AC and rooms were hot. Located 1 block from central train station which made getting around really easy.

No air-conditioning ruins this hotel

Much about this hotel was excellent: location, cleanliness and friendliness of staff. However, we were surprised to find that the rooms were not air-conditioned and the rooms were very hot. With a noisy street outside we had to keep the windows closed at night and the room was stifling. On this basis alone I cannot recommend the hotel unless you upgrade to their "comfort" rooms...!

Average Outdated Hotel

The hotel is right next to a busy street, so the room was noisy throughout the night. It didn’t come with a continental breakfast, so I would suggest finding a hotel that has one. It wasn’t anything special.

Great breakfast but please install air conditioning

Visited at the end of July & my, was the room hot, there was a fan but I’d advise the hotel to install air conditioning. The selection at breakfast was great - smoked salmon anyone?! The location was very good too being close to the main railway station. The reception staff could have been a bit more helpful, they were a way off the concierge in any US hotel I’ve stayed in. This hotel I’m sure would be better in winter & for someone who knows the area & how to get about.

Good location, bad facilities

As a business traveller this hotel was ideally located close to the train station and within walking distance of the city centre. Unfortunately it is located in the red light district and not the best location for a female travelling on her own. The hotel was clean and it was nice to have a complimentary bottle of water in the room. Unfortunately my stay was spoilt as the hotel has no air conditioning which turned my room into a sauna and this was compounded the fact that I had a street facing room and the noise was too loud to allow the window to be opened. I did ask for a fan but was told that all the fans were being used.

Hot Munich summer

The rooms were clean and large by European standards; however, I would not stay here again. The hotel is very near the central train station the neighborhood looked more like pakistan than Munich. When you leave the hotel women beggars in burkas will inundate you and the men appear to be deciding whether or not they can get away with a mugging. This was one of the few places in Munich I would worry about walking around at night. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the 19th century plumbing made taking a shower nearly impossible. The water temp fluctuated between 50 and 150 degrees every few seconds and make no mistakes Munich gets hot in the summer. Every night when we could not take the heat any longer we would open the window to hear drunken singing, cursing and fighting from the street below, only to be broken up by the police sirens every few minutes.

Great hotel

This was a very nice hotel that I would recommend. The only issue I had was the location as it was quite a walk (with our luggage) from the Metro station so we took a cab.

Good value and convenience

I picked this hotel for its convenient location near the train station. We were only in town for 24hrs. The surrounding neighborhood is a little tacky (plenty of strip joints) but it felt completely safe. The main town square is very close to the hotel which made finding a place for dinner and drinks very easy. The staff at the hotel were nice and helpful. The room itself met my expectations for a $100/night room in Europe. It was clean and well kept but not particularly comfortable or spacious.

great room for the money

very well maintained. good breakfast, very near the train station- this was our priority. also gave us 60 min free internet. they also checked us soon after we arrived at 10:23 am

Location not for solo woman traveler

Location close to train station and easy access to city travel. Be prepared for location to contain casinos and exotic sex shops. Staff very helpful in locating sites and explaining how to reach them. Computer access available,

nice room but disappointed in wireless internet

hotel was nice and well kept. be sure to leave your "do not disturb" sign on door or they will constantly be bugging you to clean the room. you only get 1 hour free internet service and then you pay 8 euros for every hour after that through tmobile. don’t know if it was my operating system or what but the connection was terrible. would not stay here if you need internet but other than that it was a good deal for the money and location was exceptionly great!

Wouldn’t stay here again

My husband and I spent several days in Germany and this was our least favorite hotel. While there was nothing terribly wrong with it, the room just seemed dingy. The carpet was old and the whole room just seemed outdated compared to other hotels we stayed at. The breakfast was good, but expensive...14 euro/person. Parking was convenient. The hotel had a garage with direct access to the entrance to the hotel. Parking was 12euro/day. The hotel was convenient to the train station, about a 5-10 minute walk. It was about a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz. Overall, not a bad hotel. In the future though, I would spend a little more to stay in a nicer hotel.

Best breakfast in Munich

Hotel provides an outstanding buffet breakfast, which is included with the room price. The location is minutes from the main train station and a short walk to the major attractions. Front desk service is outstanding.

Excellent Value, Service, Location, Breakfast

Excellent breakfast. Only 1.5 blocks from main train station. Convenient to walk to pedestrian zone. Gratious front desk staff. Arrived at front desk from States at 9am. They gave us free breakfast, stored our luggage, and placed my computer in secure area; after breakfast we went sightseeing to Xmas markets, and returned at about 2pm for checkin to our room. This is 4th hotel in Munich we stayed in for Xmas market touring, and it has been the best value, service, included breakfast for the money.They also gave us a one hour complimentary internet TMobile pass; this allowed us to check email for whole 4 day stay.

OK Hotel

The hotel is on a busy street, our room faced the main street and with no AC we had to window open. Lots of noise, so expect a bit of trouble sleeping, we did. The breakfast was just great, great choose. Overall not bad, but the noise was a killer. We asked to be moved, but they could not because all the rooms were booked. One positive note, great location for seeing downtown Munich.

Ideally suited for exploring Munich

Arrived Sunday pm was allocated a comfort room on the sixth floor (upgraded). Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Staff attentive and breakfast was brilliant. Only comment was that you had to ask for tea and coffee facilities in your room.

Try Brennans Restaurant- first class steaks.

Friendly and helpful reception staff. Excellent breakfast and close to sights and public transport. We found this hotel to be an excellent choice for our short stay in munich

Quality hotel at an affordable price

Pros: Fantastic, friendly service... Funky bar, great breakfast, clean & tidy room. Cons: The standard room is a bit small and not well lit, not the most desireable location in town (though admittedly, very handy)

Staff was helpful. Rooms a bit spartan. No A/C. General area safe but getting a bit seedy.
