gotta love the cane train
nice small resort, far enough away from any town to be very quiet and relaxing. the only disturbance was the sugar cane train running through the grounds several times a day. complex is on a steep hill, from reception to "beach" rooms, but they will drive you up. can only walk on the beach during low tide. it is a couole of miles to the main road to catch the local buses to the towns. looks fairly new, but needs maintenance already. some of the tiles in the bathroom were cracked. shower doors were coming off the tracks, and shower needed major cleaining. people very helpful and friendly. food was good, but limited menu.

Great hotel, but a little isolated
The Anchorage offers a range of accomodation options, from standard rooms to villas and apartments. I stayed in a Beachfront Villa for 10 nights and I was very pleased with the size of the room and the facilities inside it. The TV didn’t have any channels that worked, but anyone who comes to Fiji to watch TV should have their head examined. The one thing I missed in the room was internet access - there is a internet PC in the reception area but there is a charge of 35c per minute. Although the resort itself was isolated, you can get a boat to Beachcomber Island (also owned by the same people who own Anchorage) and experience the true Fijian tropical island environment. Warning - Beachcomber is for the young and young and heart, so don’t go there expecting peace and tranquility - it’s a party island. Staff at the anchorage were extremely friendly and all remembered my first name. I would recommend renting a car to help you get from Anchorage to towns like Lautoka and Nadi, which are both a 20 min drive away. Driving to the aiport takes about 15 mins. Fijians drive on the left side of the road of if you’re British, Japanese or Australian it helps a lot.

Get yourself to Beachcomber Island and let your hair down. Day trips are available, as is overnight accommodation at different levels of comfort.

you have to go there
this hotel is in the middle of no where. so if you are in your honeymoon it would be a great place to stay. the staff there is very helpfull.the prices for the rooms are great and they also have villa. the view is awesome. also the hotel restarant had some nice food and their drinks were good, too. i would recommmend this hotel to my friends.

you have two city close by that you could to do your shopping. the prices are not that mad if you haggle with the people.
