A week in late October
We had a two bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor with a good sea view. The apartment was a good size for us ... myself and my 13 year old son and two16 year old girls. Very comfortable with fairly new furnishings and the kitchen area was ideal for a weeks holiday although a microwave would have been useful ... the bathroom though passable was ready for a refit. I found the staff fairly unengaging - not unpleasant but not people that would go the extra mile. The pool and other facilities could do with freshening up. The pool was cool but OK once you got use to it ... the sea is a better bet for bathing and we did a couple of good sessions of snorkling.. There is a good area for sunbathing and my recommendation would be to use these facilities in the morning when that side of the peninsula gets the sun and then get out and about in the afternoon. I would place the hotel as a very good 3 star rather than a 4 star. The location is reasonably good. Near the coast and not far to walk to restaurants, bars and shops close to the bus station. Most evenings there was little noise around the hotel. On the final Friday they had a function which spilled out to the seating area at the front of the hotel and there was some noise late on. I suppose that comes with the territory of having a balcony leading off from the bedroom. It wasnt too much of a problem and happy to suffer this as a trade off for the great sea view when I woke up.
Be prepared to do a bit of walking to get to know the area better and find out where the best places to eat and shop are. Its a real bonus having the bus station close by as you can get virtually anywhere on the island on the buses that leave here. The 4 of us went to Valetta for less than 3 euros, and another day me and my son went to Mdina on the bus. Both trips are a must. The hotel organised a small hire car for a couple of days which we used to go to Gozo one day (again a must do) and to spend another around St.Juliens and St Georges Bay and the regulatory visit to Hard Rock Cafe in Paceville. Locals are friendly and obviously its pretty easy to get about with signs in English and with driving on the left. Easy to get Church fatigue - there are so many that are very majestic - so pace yourself.

Great Hotel in Fantastic Location
This was our first time to Malta and we could not have chosen a better Hotel and resort. The hotel has been refurbished recently and the standard of our room was excellent. We travelled the island quite extensively and decided that our hotel was in the best location, quiet but with ample amounts of restaurants and entertainment within a couple of minutes walk. We knew not to expect sandy beaches but having a pool within meters of the sea and having good easy access in and out of the water meant we could still spend time on the beach. The hotel was within five minutes walk of the bus terminus so this made travelling aroung the island extremely cheap and easy.We could not fault this hotel, its staff, rooms or loaction and will most definately be going back. PS watch out for timeshare sharks around the bus terminus saying you have won a free holiday, complete rubbish, nothing but con men and women.
Visit All Saints restaurant and its owner Charlie just around the corner from the hotel, Friday night he does a barbecue for six euros and it is fantastic value for money.

Sunny Coast
We stayed in rooms 404 and 405 which had magnificent views over the sea and had huge balconies with sun beds tables and chairs. Good location with many nice maltese restuarants nearby
