Great Place

As many have stated, the drinks are expensive, however the food was great, the service was excellent and friendly, and the location is good. The hotel has their own section of beach and they offer hourly shuttle service back and forth for free. Definitely recommend.

As 5 star rated hotel not impressive. Aging signs visible on structure, erased brass on door handles

It is ideally located having nice & helpful if you ask for a service. It provides a buffet breakfast included in the rate and is very good, a large variety and spread. A few areas do need attention. First, for a 5 star hotel the hotel general condition is not to that level. Seem of a bye gone era and it is very huge; proper upkeep and and maintenance seem difficult for this 5 star hotel in modern times. Aging effects are visible every where; missing brass on furniture, lamps, door knobs etc. a general wear... Second and more importantly, it has hands off approach to provide any guidance or info on tourism services. Instead, direct to contact the travel agent at its shopping arcade. The travel agent is not the best in the town. Did not have most of the tour brochures except the only colored copy he had for himself to show while other are photo copies. I took a few tours; misssed one due to lack of communication. For the whole day tour,instead of a luxury coach a shuttle van was used - not very comfortable (whereas, other tour operators had proper coaches on all tours). Yet, for another cultural night show there was no guide and it was us with the driver (any how, it helped all of us, the fellow travellers to develop good rapport). Lastly, conceirage services were non existant, much less than one expect at a five star hotel - indeed an area of improvement.

Very impressed!

This is my first time here, and I was not sure what to expect, seeing some different reviews. But from the very beginning the staff was very helpful and tried to see to all our needs. They gave us a great room with a great view. Room service was good, but we had to remind them a couple of times to come, but partly our fault for staying in the room too long. On the last evening of our trip, my computer had stopped working, and the staff helped me find a working computer to copy some photos I had taken. We ate almost all our meals at the hotel, and the food and service was excellant, with good variety and fresh and tasty. The waiters would do anything for us, even preparing special deserts for my sweetheart at no extra charge. This is a beautiful hotel, set on well landscaped grounds with very nice swimming pools.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

The cleaning for clothes (by the hotel) is a little expensive, but not untypical. I was a little shocked at the drycleaning price for a couple of items. I should have just bought new in the center of the city...
