Good Hotel
Plus Points are : Excellent location Beautiful hotel. Excellent Breakfast. Good Service. Negatives: A noisy wedding was on the Saturday night, we were not told this prior to booking. Wehn I couldnt sleep I called for room service to be told there was none as a wedding reception was on ! Quite rudely too. Television only recieved CNN news channel.

Second visit
Wonderful reception on arrival, staff remembered us from previous years visit. We have never stayed in a hotel where the staff were so helpful and extremely professional whilst managing to be totally unstuffy!! The Savelli hotel is in Trastevere in Rome, close to a huge choice of restaurants from expensive to pretty cheap so it is a very good base in Rome, somewhat away from the centre. As a refurbished convent designed originally by Borromini with many of his features still in place this place oozes charm. The standard bedroom is adequate if a bit small but makes the hotel affordable. This year they have opened up a huge room, probably used once for services, as their breakfast room. All the old features have been preserved & there is a fabulous wooden ceiling. Service is impeccable and bfast choice good apart from the hot food which tends to be the same every day. The hotel needs public access computers so guests can check up on e-mails, flights etc without having to take the room net package which is very expensive. This hotel may be far to quiet for some people.it is possible to hardly see another guest at all, particularly in the evening. We would visit again but found the mattresses just too hard this time, & four nights was a bit too much on them to feel restful. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

Looking forward to going back for longer stay
Only stayed overnight with friend in July and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is just like the pictures in the brochure and has a unique character which makes it different from the big chains and is welcoming oasis in the heart of Rome. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were lovely. It had all the amenities you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and hot and cold food with delicious pastries and we sat out in the beautiful gardens. Stayed in other hotels in Rome but cant wait to go back for a longer stay to spend more time in the hotel and would highly recommend it.
