Good Hotel: poor parking
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good. However, the parking had to be in the road because the hotel car park was very small and monopolised by guests who had paid for a reserved a space. On this one point, the staff were indifferent. The road parking is largely taken by surfers from early morning and finding a space is fraught and difficult.

hotel was ok, not enough parking for guests so was told to park at the hotel 300m down the road...

Friendly hotel
We felt comfortable in the Esplanade. The staff were both friendly and helpful with suggestions when asked. We left feeling we’d had value for money.
Traveller's tip on dining
Asked the bar staff for suggestions for dining out. Wouldn’t have known about the place we ate at without their guidance, it was superb.
