Excellent Hotel
This is a very nice hotel with nice facilities. It is 5 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes walk from the City Center. the rooms are spacious, with balcony. The breakfast was included in the package and it is worth the money. The staff speaks English but they are not very friendly. Some of the staff from the reception were quite arrogant.

Great quality hotel
We stayed at the Royal Carlton on the last day of our vacation as a base from which to explore Bologna. It is a fantastic location - a 10 minute walk to Piazza Maggiore, and a lovely walk at that. The room was enormous - we had asked for a double with space for a cotbed. I am used to the cotbed being squeezed down the side of the bed but was delighted to find there was lots of room. It was high quality (unusual) and had a good, thick mattress, fully dressed with baby blankets. The bathroom was large, clean, well appointed and had that feel-good factor. There was no kettle in the room and we had to ask for boiling water so we could make up our babies’ formula milk. However, this was no trouble and it was delivered quickly. The TV was enormous Samsung LCD screen with full range of Sky channels. The bed was huge, quite hard but comfortable. We had a balcony and it looks like all rooms do (a view of another building though - nothing exciting). Our main disappointment was that we were given no warning that the swimming pool and all of the spa facilities were shut on a Sunday. We had particularly come here for these. Later that night we ate at the hotel restaurant - it was nearly empty and lacked atmosphere, food mediocre and service slow - we sat with empty wine glasses for 30 minutes. It is a cracking hotel - very comfortable and well appointed and extremely convenient. We had a great night sleep and so did our baby. It is an excellent family and business hotel.
Caminetto D’Oro nearby - and was our favourite meal while we stayed in Italy. 5 minute walk or less.

Good business style hotel
Well run hotel probably catering to business guests. Full breakfast included with room rate was very good.
