Avenida Palace
Great location withing walking distance of the main attractions, restaurants and next to the station with fantastic and cheap Euro 1.70 to Sintra. Very helpful staff but the suite was two shabby rooms with a small bathroom of tired 4 star standard, very quiet as it faced the inner courtyear and of course no view. Not bad for the price but a long way from 5 star.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Must make a day trip to Sintra fantastic palaces and gardens, pretty town, unlike Lisbon graffiti free. The Portugese were universally charming and friendly.

Terrific Location
Travelers can get to many great sites with a short walk or a guided tour. We had a great value taking a private guide who squeezed all the highlights into our 3.5 hour tour - great! Breakfast was over the top delicious! Concierge services could not have been more attentive. Bar service was excellent!
