Going back next year!
This was our first package holiday and we had a fantastic time! The hotel was basic but clean with ample room. Located in a quiet road but in walking distance of nightlife if wanted. The staff were friendly, in fact all the Maltese were lovelly & helpful (especially when we got lost!) The buses are something else & an experience not to be missed. Our 15 year old son loved his Malta experience and can’t wait to go back. There was lots to do, we visited Gozo & Comino. Did one of the tour routes round the Island. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back next year with more family members - Malta 2010 here we come!

Friendly base in Malta
We arrived after high season so reception only opens for a few hours each morning - could have been a problem arriving at 11:30 at night, but wasn’t. Friendly & helpful bar staff were expecting us and directed us to our self catering apartment. Clean, fairly roomy apartment which was fine for the two of us (could have been a bit tight if more than two). Rear view of a wall - though tastefully painted with land & sea scapes - but then this was a base for exploring the island, a place to to sleep not sit on a balcony all day, so vista did not concern us. Ended up eating in the restaurant every night as the food, service, friendliness and staff attitude were all excellent. Clean, cool pool - overshadowed by adjacent buildings from after noon - but this can be a blessing as also sheltered from winds and not a heatsink and therefore good for not getting sunburnt. Note that fans in the apartments are free, but if you want air-con it costs extra. Same applies for TV in rooms - costs extra (there is a TV lounge with free TV if you don’t want to pay & are desperate for a TV fix!).
