We didnt want to leave the block
We stayed 6 nights at Raffles in October 2009 for our friends wedding. Other than a few short shopping trips, we found need and had no real desire to leave the hotel. Great food options, unbelievable service, and everything we needed right there. The butlers were very good, and were consistently looking for (and finding) ways to go beyond what was expected, even of a 5 star hotel.

Exceptional Hotel
We spent three nights in a Palm Court Suite at the Raffles. The facilities, service, and dining all met our expectations for a hotel that is reputed to be one of the finest in Asia. The atmosphere is subtle and refined, the architecture and gardens, of course, are spectacular, and the furnishings are comfortable and luxurious. All that said, we felt welcomed even though we travel with our 4 year old daughter, who is neither shy nor quiet! Dont miss the Raffles.

Raffles
Amazing hotel. Stay if you want to live the colonial side of singapore and old world charm. Highest personal service and the staff cannot do enough for you (they even allowed us to use the pool and have a shower before a late night flight even though we had checked out!). obviously this all comes at a price in comparison to most of the other modern hotels in the area but in my opinion was well worth it.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Definately visit the Long Bar to take advantage of the free Singapore sling and listen to the great house band playing cool 80s covers!
