Station Square
Excellent location with plenty of shops and restaurants....right next to the Incline, plus a short walk across the Smithsfield bridge into downtown Pittsburgh. My 11 year old and I flew in to see a Steeler game...we were able to walk to the game! Great city and friendly people. Sheraton was excellent and friendly, great room service and no hassles with check in/out or billing.
Plan to see Carnegie Museum in Oakland. Venture out and see some of the old French/Indian and Revolutionary War forts

Station Square ROCKS
Being so close to the bars, the inclines and a walk to the other side of the river is great. Staff very helpful if you need them. The fish house on Mount Washington is the place for dinner.
The city view from Mount Washington is a must. Dont be afraid to take the incline and walk to the restaurants if you want the excercise and a great time. Bars and restaurants seem to shut down early, so go early!!

Great Hotel, Great Location
Anytime Im in Pittsburgh I try to stay at the Station Square Sheraton ... the hotel is located next to numerous bars/restaurants (Hard Rock Cafe, Bar Louie, Star, Buca di Peppo) and is a ferry ride away from Heinz Field/PNC Park ... highly recommend if you are in town for a Steeler/Pirates or Penguins game ... hotel bar was a lot of fun ... employees were helpful and very nice ...
Traveller's tip
If you need a cab call the concierge from your room and have them arrange it ... cabs appear to be few in Pittsburgh and any cab that comes to the hotel is usually reserved for someone else ...
