Great boutique hotel in Delhi
The Amber is a modern boutique hotel that can be highly recommended. Whilst it does not have a full restaurant, food is available all day and excellent, inexpensive Indian, Chinese and Italian food can be brought in and served in either your room or in the dining area It is, however, some way out in South Delhi and getting on for 30 minutes from Connaught Place by taxi. That is its only disadvantage and is offset by the relative calm and tranquillity of the location.

Exceeded my expectations
I had researched reviews on this hotel and they were all good, but the quality exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself i very modern as far as the decor and amenities(i.e. digital ’Do not disturb’ on door)and the staff are the ultimate in professional. It was a bit difficult for the cab driver to find late at night, but well worth it. I only stayed overnight and we wished we could have been there for a longer stay. Can’t comment on the area much since we were in and out, but not much is around. Still, it is worth staying there, just take a cab where you want to go.

an oasis
The decor is sleek and modern, which is a welcome change of pace in such an ancient, teeming city. The people were great. Breakfast was nice. And the place is very clean. Our bathroom was beautiful. I stayed with my 18-yr-old son and he loved it too. But please note, there are 2 Amber hotels in Delhi and the other one is at the opposite end of the spectrum so make sure you get the address for the right one. And hiring the hotel’s driver from the airport was definitely worth it.
