Stunning!
This is a real gem of a place, an ideal location if you’re looking to get away from it all for a few days. The hotel consists of a small number of individual rooms set on the outskirts of a rural and tranquil village (St Pierre des Champs), around 5km from the pretty village of Lagrasse. Our spacious room was elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The owners (a couple originally from Nantes) were extremely friendly and (for non-French speakers!!), spoke excellent English. The restaurant is very tastefully finished and and the food, whilst not particularly cheap, was excellent. My wife and I can’t rate this place highly enough and our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer!
Traveller's tip on local attractions
A 5 minute car ride from the hotel is the pretty village of Lagrasse, one of a number of places officially recognised as some of the most beautiful in France. It’s a perfect place for an evening stroll and the medieval abbey is cheap and well worth a visit. The sort of place you’d like to retire to!
