Family Oriented Hotel

My parents, a sister and her family and my sister in laws stayed in this Hotel for a week recently. I made the reservation for my parents so they could stay in the same hotel as my sister and her family. The comments I received were: 1. It is a large resort targeting families (typical of an All Inclusive Resort). This resort is popular with Mexican families. 2. The food is good. They have several options and a good French restaurant that must people are not aware. They have a Mexican fiesta and festival at a little plaza at nights. 3. The rooms are nice and comfortable, but nothing fancy. 4. The beach/ocean at the resort is very dangerous, so careful...strong waves and undercurrent. 5. It is a family resort so it gets crowded during the weekends, holidays and vacations, so expect that; if you are looking for a more luxurious peaceful resort, look elsewhere. Overall very satisfied with the resort, perfect for a family vacation...if you don’t want crowds, then avoid Mexican holidays, vacations or/and weekends.

Never Again!

This hotel doesn’t deserve 4 stars! In the lobby, there are no flowers, pictures, designs or anything else to make you say, "how nice". We were a group of 6 and wanted 3 rooms next to each other. They gave us 2 close to each other and a 3rd at the end of the hall because "the hotel was full". In reality the occupancy rate during our stay was under 30%. Once checked in, we walked down a dark hall to our rooms. We passed a broken fountain on the left. In it was a dead crab that remained in it for the 4 days. The rooms were decent, but the air conditioning was horrible. The pool is actually 2 pools. The shallow pool is on the right. The deeper pool is on the left. The pool bar is located way on the right and ok if you decide to hang in the shallow pool. We liked the deeper pool but when we wanted a drink, we had to get out of the pool, walk across to the bar, get the drinks and walk back. In 4 days, only twice did a waiter come to take orders. The selection for food is poor. At breakfast, there was no exit to the very limited buffet layout. To exit, you had to go through a crowd of people either trying to get in or waiting for omelettes. Good luck finding butter. Get your own drinks, except for coffee. Occupants were mostly Mexicans. I’m hispanic but when I visit an all-inclusive, I’m used to a variety of people. I’m done wasting my time. This hotel was a total letdown and I’ll stick with the better all-inclusives from now on. Revoke the 4 star rating and five it 1.5 at most!

Traveller's tip on shopping

Go to the shops at Zahuatanejo. Take a bus, about 7 pesos each to get there. It’s cheaper and they’re not trying to sell you timeshares there. The shops across the street from the hotel have nothing and what they do have is expensive.
