Budget Hotel with Excellent Customer Service
I last stayed at the El Cid maybe 4 years ago and my experience then was not good as then I found the staff unfriendly which caused a negative feeling about the hotel. This time I booked in, again on a budget break, not expecting much but I was very impressed by how much the customer service had improved and how friendly the staff were - it made such a difference! Yes the hotel is in the budget class and sadly lacks air conditioning in the bedrooms (it got very hot at night but of course it was August!) but if you are on a tight budget then maybe this is the hotel for you, just choose a month not so hot. It has a pool, good central location for town and bars, and close enough to the beach too. I really liked the way that as soon as I checked in I was given a customer survey for me to complete and also when my room was cleaned a short note checking that I was happy with the cleanliness. So in summary Budget yes but you get what you pay for with good customer service which made I stay so much better than 4 years ago!
As there is only a ceiling fan in the bedroom, no air conditioning, avoid August in this hotel as it does get very hot at night
