Suite (sweet) boutique
I was upgraded to an adorable suite with a fireplace, lots of big windowseats. The fireplace was lit ,the bedroom was adorable, comfortable with delightful golden duvet and comfy sink-in-able pillows. The only thing that was worriesome was that the room had a real key (vs. a cardkey) and I wondered about the security. Alas no worries. The upholstery covering the couch and chair was a little old-fashioned, something just a little jazzier would have warmed up the room. I did get to check out another room as well, in one of the other buildings that are part of Halliburton, and one adorable bedroom was under the angled roof, with a skylight and the sweetest little extra bedroom (perfect if you were travelling with a child, teenager)... The hotel sitting room, while small, was marvelous and cozy with leather chairs, an inviting fireplace, a computer for internet access. The breakfast room was sweet, exactly all I needed. The staff was wonderful! funny, sweet, helpful, very welcoming. I would stay there again (oh! the parking is a bit behind the building and I never actually used it...the staff allowed me, a single woman, to park immediately beside the hotel instead which was so great . Next to the parking lot was a great blues club...fabulous music!..one block away a great coffee shop... all in all a great place to stay if you like a bed and breakfast or boutique hotel.
Fireside, just off Spring Garden Road and near the public library, remains my favourite place to stop and eat. The couches and ambience downstairs makes you feel comfortable whether you are there for a meal or just drinks. I love the fireplace and the staff is awesome...not to mention the food, which always brings me back.

We loved our stay at the Haliburton. It was our Honeymoon and everyone was so kind and helpful. We loved the location and the style of the hotel. We will definately be staying here everytime we come to Halifax.
