budget lovers
we stayed at this hotel this month (october 2009). stay overall enjoyable. price unbeatable. garage difficult to access and almost full at night. $5 parking/24 not bad. the room is ok. bathroom on the small side. HBO is free. refrigerator and safe are nice features. overall good.

Best Western Oceanside
Everything was fine, except that I would have preferred a place right on the beach. It was a bit of a hike, but I can’t complain, for what we paid. The beach was great! The water was actually nicer than what we last experienced in Puerta Plata.

Cheap and basic but clean and good free breakfast
We only stayed one night as a stop over. Clean hotel but front dek staff not very friendly. Bar staff friendlier. Good free breakfast and room clean and spacious. Lift out of order which was a bit of a pain but didn’t spoil the stay. Good location and worth what we paid. Parking is not free though as stated here but only cost $5.
Take the water taxi for a really nice tour around the water side and see lovely homes.
