We would recommend it!
This is not a bad little place at all - the outside of the hotel looks terrible and is very off putting but when you get inside the funky lobby/restaurant decor and cosey rooms make up for it. It has a nice lively bar/snack bar with entertainment and the noise doesnt travel. The food is good (but only tried breakfast) The rooms are spacious and clean. The neighbourhood is a little risky but if you stick to the main roads you dont have any problems - you get this with any city!! The Subway is only a 5-10 min walk away and it is very efficient. The hotel has a very good shuttle bus service anyway so you shouldnt have to walk anywhere or get public transport. The staff were friendly, keen to help and delt with any problems. We had a lovely large King room with a view of the top of the U.S Capitol building. The National Mall was about a 20/25min walk away or the shuttle is about 10mins drive as you have other people from the hotel to drop off at differerent places. The subway takes about 25mins once youve walked there and waited for your train. All in all a good place to stay if you dont want something too expensive and in an average price bracket. Washington is fairly pricey for hotels!

I needed a getaway so I visited this hotel. The staff was friendly & courteous, the room had a nice view with extremely comfortable beds and pillows. I love the layout of my room. Nice, quiet, did I mention comfortable? Cant wait to visit again.

last minute value
We made reservations for the four of us on the Friday night before we had arrived Saturday. Despite the last-minute reservation, everything was great. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful--from the front desk at check-in right through our check out. Each of us were pleasantly surprised by the incredible comfort of the mattresses and bedding--remarkable. The rooms were neat and tidy. The restaurants dinner was surpassed only by the even more sumptuous breakfast the following morning. The hotels location was perfect for driving only blocks to the main sights of DC. We hope to return soon. Great value in the heart of DC right on Capitol Hill!
