Man Utd Vs Man City classic performance classic hotel
Arrived at hotel early saturday, got to check in early. Staff were very helpful with directions etc for getting around. Health spa was lovely. Room was clean and tidy. Location of the hotel was perfect, right in the city centre. Fabulous Chinese "all you can eat" buffet across the road, Whetherspoons pub nearby too. Can’t wait to go back. Really enjoyable weekend.
Buffet Metro. All you can eat for £9.95, with buy one get one free on beer. Great food, great beer, great value!!

Bad place to stay
This hotel had a nice lobby and looked decent from outside, but the hallway was dark and doors were laying against walls without hinge. Once in the room there were dark red stains on the floor. My overall impression of the whole floor was uncanny. Stayed one night then checked out, no refund on the nights not occupied. Would never think to stay here again and highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Better than I expected
Visited in September and was genuinely impressed with the hotel considering most of the reviews I had read were awful. We were arriving in Manchester at 7.30am and had emailed weeks ahead requesting an early check in as we would be travelling from 2.30am that morning, we received an email saying they could offer us this and I printed it just in case. Good job I did as when we went to check in, the girl at reception (nice as she was) told us we were too early so I showed her the email and she said the request had not been noted on my reservation notes. To cut a long story short, she checked us in and we took the lift to the first floor where our room was. The room was fine, comfortable just a little small but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and that was the most important things. We booked the thistle as it was the most reasonably priced and I feel it was very good value for money. We stayed wed-sat and had a lovely time in Manchester, great city. Our rate did not include breakfast or dinner but we ate in the bar on the first evening and the food in the hotel is good but a little pricey, as are the drinks but I suppose any city centre hotel will be expensive. Great location and close to the shops and Nightlife. I am already booking my next visit to Manchester and will def stay at the Thistle.

All Man Utd fans have to go and do the tour of Old trafford, even better, book your trip when there is a home match on and get tickets!!
