’Ok for just a short stay’

This hotel is fine for travellers just passing through, the rooms are fine, but the bathrooms are a bit small. There is no restaurant and bar, the continental breakfast and the ’afternoon wine’ is served in the foyer,it’s ok if you don’t mind serving yourself, and doing you’re own tea + coffee. We were only there for 2 nights, so it was alright for us, it’s not far from Union Square, or the trams, so the location is good.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

I recommend the ’San Fransisco + Alcatraz Tour’, the driver we had was fantastic! we were picked up from the hotel, and at the end, taken back. It takes about 7 hours - but well worth it!

Nice hotel but a bit old

This is a heritage listed hotel so is a bit out of date although for the price and location it was adequate. Rooms are reasonable size but bathroom a bit small. Pillows very uncomfortable and no hair dryer. The afternoon drinks and nibblies was a nice touch. Breakfast was very ordinary- bananas & watermelon and a selection of fatty pastries only

Traveller's tip on local attractions

About a 15-20 minute walk to the cable car. Close to Union Square and shopping
