Great hotel
Id definately recommend this hotel, in a convenient location for the museums but you can easily get around town from here. I was in a sngle room - which REALLY means single, but it was fine, nice furnishing and felt spaceous. Good breakfast.

Friendly and Warm
I stayed at Hotel Jan Luyken between 21 and 25 September. The staff vas very fiendly and helpful. The hotel is located at the museums area and very close to Richs and Van Gogh museums. The parallel street is an excellent shopping street which hosts the major well known trademarks. It is at the opposite side of Central Station but over all Amsterdam is quite small and you can walk to everywhere. The room was small, there were not enough cupboards but in general it was OK. Due to a construction work on the street it was noisy in the early mornings.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you wish to visit more than 3-4 museums, buy a museum card which allows you to enter more than 20 museums in Amsterdam. Walking is the best way to go around. Mind the bysicles, bikes, trams and cars which come from everyway. Endonezian restaurants are really good and worth to try.
