Not really an apartment, but convenient to things
The charmless "apartment," exterior to the hotel, in a once-elegant, now hardscrabble neighborhood, lacked a proper sitting/day area. But convenient on foot to all major sights in the center. OK to stay if you receive a substantial discount.

An excellent hotel at an affordable price
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, especially the facilities making fresh orange juice. Places of interest and restaurants were withing walking distance and we did not take a taxi.

A great little budget hotel
The staff are friendly, and the room clean and comfortable. This isn’t the most modern hotel in the world, (which is why I marked it down slightly on "condition of hotel"), but that gives it charm. All the essentials were there - comfy beds and hot showers, and a few non essentials too: chocolate on the pillow and we even had an exercise bike in the room! It’s very close to the train station, so if like us you are just making a stop on a bigger trip it means you don’t have to get a taxi or haul your luggage all over town. And to wander into the centre is very easy: Bologna is a small, conpact city, so whilst this hotel may look a little way away from the centre on a map you really are talking about a short walk - and just about the right amount of time to walk off your Spaghetti Bolognese on your way back :-) Like any Italian hotel if you want the best of the breakfast get down early - but we left it until the last minute and still had plenty to choose from. All in all we thought it was great and have no qualms about recommending it to like minded travellers: people that don’t necessarily need five star luxuary but prefer our hotels with a bit of character.
