Lovely hotel in a lovely country
Staff was very helpful, courteous, and available. It was a very pretty building inside and out, and everything was comfortable.

Would definitely stay again
We arrived early and were greeted warmly and were able to get an early check in at 10AM. The room was clean and spacous and had all the amenities except wash cloths for showering. Our stay was quiet and comfortable. The downtown location was a perfect walking distance to all Dublin has to offer. The DART statinn was a two minute walk and we took advantage by taking the train to Houth for the Sunday market.

Solid 4* Hotel
The Davenport gave a pretty solid 4-star performance. Clean, comfortable, well-speced rooms - obliging staff - classy common areas - good (though expensive) restaurant. Its also great if you want a short walk to the National Art Gallery or National Library, though 10-15 minutes walk from the City Centre shopping. Id definitely choose it again as a safe bet for a good stay in Dublin. Heres a few tips if youre going there: - If youre arriving in your car, the car park is up the far (east) end of Fenian Street, on the right (marked Alexander Court). You will need to get an access code from the hotel before you arrive (a receptionist at the hotel gave me completely inaccurate directions and no access code which made arrival at night rather stressful!) Get your ticket validated at reception and youll pay 5 euros per day. - They charge for wifi (shame on them). You can get free wifi in the Insomnia coffee shop just over the road in Lincoln Place (get your breakfast there too and save a bundle) - Their "Business Centre" is a joke - ancient PC, apparently virus-ridden (according to its own scan) and too slow for meaningful work. Bring your own laptop/netbook.
Traveller's tip on dining
If you want a nice, reasonably healthy meal out, try The Farm in Dawson Street or a nice Starbucks just opposite that. If youre on a tight budget, get a sub from a Subway - hundreds of them all over the city (healthy too!)
