Not a Bad Place to Stay
The staff is the best part of this hotel! They could not have been nicer-- from the moment I was picked up at the airport by the hotel driver (let them know your arrival time), the staff in the dining room, the bellboy-- everyone was extremely pleasant, easy to understand, and very helpful when I asked questions. The hotel is clean and quiet. My room faced the street and I rarely heard any traffic. The decor of the place is very simple-- nothing like the pictures on the web. The bed was comfortable (luckily too because there was no chair to sit on) but the place reminded me of a college dorm with its stark simplicity-- perhaps all the more so because I had looked at the pics on the website. I was just sleeping and storing my clothes in the room so it met my needs. The bathroom was large, clean, and everything worked. There is a restaurant and a complimentary breakfast buffet. It was quite good with some rotation of food but some of the basics each day. You have to sign a bill each day but when I mentioned I thought it was complimentary, they assured me the bill was for internal accounting only. I had one lunch in the place-- a hamburger which I am still not sure what it was. It was reasonably priced and actually wasnt too bad. I am just not sure it was hamburger. The hotel is on a busy street but not around any of the city attractions. I walked most of the time and never felt unsafe. The neighborhood around it seems to be for the guest workers. I found them very shy but if I smiled and spoke to them, I would get a big smile and some form of greeting back. Taxis seemed to be readily available if booked in advance. You will appreciate the staff above all.

Never Again!
The website was very misleading. The hotel is old, the rooms are small, paint/plaster peeling off. The total over all comfort of the room was very unpleasing. The pictures on the website were from I dont know where, but not the floor I was on. I will never be back.

Okay hotel
This hotel was okay, but you could do better for the same price. The one thing that wasnt right is that the room smelled of mildew, which wasnt really a problem but wouldnt have been great for multiple days. There are newer hotels just built in Doha, at similar prices, and they dont have mildew yet. (They may soon, which I think has to do with the ocean being so close.) That said, the staff was friendly. The food wasnt great, but was adequate. The location wasnt great, but okay too.
