Our Christchurch stay in Nov. ’09
Hotel was right by River Avon in a quieter neighborhood of town, yet within easy reach of most attractions, preferably by car. Check-in efficient & concierge very helpful. Staff very warm in greeting customers. Restaurant on site - price reasonable. Parking facilities adequate, convenient & free.
Beautiful landscaping & gardens - photographer’s heaven!

Hard to find gem in the center of CHC
Though I had no complaints after finding the hotel, it took us a good half hour to find after we arrived late night. During that time of the night, especially of Friday nights, CHC downtown is not a pleasant place and is crawling with shady characters.

Great place to stay
This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our whole trip. The staff were friendly and efficient and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet location 10 minutes walk from the centre of Christchurch.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get the two day hop-on hop-off tram ticket for NZ$15 to see the central sights of the city. The buses were frequent and an all day bus pass got us to a lot of the outlying locations e.g.New Brighton, very cheaply.
