Will stay here again!
I was extremely satisfied. Staff went above and beyond with directions into the city, places to eat, etc. Hotel was very clean, cannot be beat for the money.

Excellent value for money hotel
Plus points - Excellent hotel conditions Friendly Staff Much cheaper than Manhattan based hotels Excellent breakfast included in the price (unlike some other NY hotels) Quieter than Manhattan at night Free shuttle service to and from La Guardia Airport and 33rd Street Station (for Manhattan ) Rooms include free TV, safe, internet connection and comfortable bed. Minus Points - The neighbourhood is industrial to say the least, but Manhattan is only minutes away on the subway. Summary - I chose to stay at the hotel after reading some of the earlier reviews and I was not disappointed as it met my full expectations. This is an excellent choice of hotel for anybody expecting a good level of service without paying for the privilege of being based in Manhattan.
Metro Card for 7 days unlimited use is cheap (currently $27) Budget for $40 a taxi to and from JFK to Long Island City. New York Pass covers most tourist admissions at reduced cost. Completely ignore scammers trying to pass off dvds in Times square, they are a complete pain and end up trying to get money out of you for their "free" rap demo. For people transferring from Amsterdam: If you smoke, don’t get your cigarrettes in Amsterdam on the way back as they are much more expensive for people travelling within the EU (to the UK) than travelling out of the EU (to USA). Travel Insurance: Not disclosing medical details is a loophole that insurance companies will use to defer payouts. Shop around on-line and be honest. Some conditions such as Asthma do not affect the premium if the condition is controlled.

Nice and comfortable
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Location of hotel is ten minute walk to subway station but the hotel has a shuttle that can take you there. They also have a free shuttle to and from the airport. Room was clean but small, for two people it was sufficent. The free continental breakfast in the morning was good. Being in New York for the first time every day we were on the go, leaving the hotel around 8 am and coming back around midnight . Cab ride from Time Square to hotel is around 20 with tip. The only complaint we would have is if you want to come back and rest the hotel isnt close. We chose price over convenience of location, the cost of being in Manhattan would of cost an additional $500.00 for a four day stay. For the price and the hosptality of staff I would recommend this hotel.
