My stay at Auckland City Hotel
We stayed for five nights at this hotel in October 2009. It turned out to be a good choice, near to the city Centre and many attractions including the Sky Tower. The room was well equiped and had a small kitchen area including a microwave which was useful for making breakfast and snack meals. The room, and the hotel were very clean and well maintained. My only criticism would be that the can openers were poor. Having only this to criticise demonstrates just how good the hotel was. The staff were really helpful and pleasant and responded quickly to our requests. I think the hotel was really good value for money and would definitely recommend it.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
The Sky Tower is a must visit even if you don’t want to jump! The Harbour is just 15 minutes walk away and from there you can visit a number of places. Don’t miss Rangitoto Island, a 600 year old extinct Volcano with spectacular views of Auckland. Would suggest that the Explorer bus on a two day pass is well worth having.

Beautiful, but full of surcharges
Service and amenities were all excellent. Just beware the internet cost per ady and parking fees could be more than your whole room!

Great place, great location, comfortable, and a great deal.
Had a great stay. It was super cheap through Expedia. It had a good location within a short walking distance to the Sky Tower and most of the City Center.
