A friendly welcome
At the Hotel Sirius you will get a warm, friendly welcome. The hotel is situated about 5mins walk away from the main part of Taormina, it is on a steel slope which is good if you want to tone up those glute muscles, (bottom)! The hotel has its own pool which is quite a good size and depth. There is a pool bar which serves a few simple dishes, pizza, salad, etc. They also do freshly squeezed orange juice which is really yummy. Taormina is a pretty town, with plenty of shops, resturants and bars. It is built into the side of a cliff, so it would not be suitable for older people (unless super fit) or people with pushchairs, as there are lots of steps and hills. When dining out in Taormina, try and go somewhere off the main road. The resturants here are much better. There is a cable car down to the beach which takes around 10mins, and only 3mins walk from the hotel. The beach is shingles and pebbles and there are a few resturants and bars here. There are plenty of sunbeds to lie on, which you need to pay for. I would definately go back to Taormina, it is such a pretty and historical town. There is the Ampitheatre which you can also go and look at as well as the obligitory churches and chaples etc.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Take plenty of money with you, the shops can be a bit on the expensive side. However, if you cant afford anything, its great just to look.

Just the ticket
Clean and comfortable and very well located for a stroll into the town centre and also for access to road into and out of Taormina but at the same time the hotel is tucked away and quiet. Car parking available if you have a hire car. Could not fault the hotel.
Seek out Ristorante da Lorenzo (Via Roma 12, Taormina) where the food and service are both excellent, quietly located with view to Etna. A hidden gem.

Great Hotel
Hotel was excellent. Our room was spacious and the balocny onto the coast was superb. The whole hotel was clean and the staff especially the lady on front reception are extremely polite, courteous and helpful. It made our honeymoon very special. The hotel is a short walk to the town, funnicular down to beach. Only negative is the STEEP entrance and exit.
Traveller's tip on dining
The tirumasu restaurant is excellent, fairly priced but worth it. A meal for 2 cost 60 euros. Also try the tirumasu it self which is awesome. Also have the ice creams down the corso umberto!!
