Dirty hotel
A good location and polite staff are really the only good points for this hotel. The corridors were filthy with the chair close to the lift even having a large obvious stain on the seat. The room felt like a prison cell which again was not clean at all, housekeeping had left 2 glasses face down on the dirty radiator to dry. The bed sheets were a dirty yellow colour so we slept on our own towels, and speaking of towels we were only given 1 for 2 guests. All in all the hotel needs to have a thorough clean before accepting any future guests.

Would go back, satisfactory base for getting around Palermo and other parts of Sicily
Staff friendly and helpful. Most reception staff could speak English. Room comfortable and clean. TV only Italian channels. Internet only available in a room off the foyer, not in room as stated on website. Iron &/or board not available on request as again stated on wewbsite, but ironing could have been done for you. Breakfast strictly continental plus cake & fruit. 2 standard rooms were booked but only one had a balcony. Hotel ideally situated for centre of Palermo (10 mins walk to Politeama Square)and getting to rail and bus connections. Part of our visit was to attend a family evening wedding, arriving back at 3.30am did not present any problems.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Eating out, plenty on offer at reasonable prices. Shops close from 13.00 - 16.00 open until 19.00/20.00. Restaurants,remain open. Palermo -good base for visiting other areas. Bus & rail services fairly good. Bus tickets must be bought in advance from booths, magazine sellers etc & activated on the bus & last for 90 minutes & can be used more than once on any route. (Can be purchased from driver but cost more). Rail tickets must be activated before boarding the trains.

Excellent location
I was happy to have selected the Europa Hotel because in general the service was good, the location excellent and the room was confortable and clean and the price was right! I got an unbeatable special...
