Work to do
The refurbishment of the building was extremely well done but unfortunately this was not matched by the service and food. The reception was indifferent and the restaurant was very unsatisfactory. The claims of great food were not realised and the staff didn’t appear to have had much, if any, training. There was little evidence of anyone supervising the restaurant so breakfast buffet food ran out and generally people were kept waiting. Either side of us people had to send food back and another gentleman had to ask if his order could be taken after a long wait. My Sea Bass was tasteless and my wife’s meat was dried out. The manager just agreed with my comments when I spoke to him! ... and we still had to pay for the meal!!!!!

Would recommend for a get away relaxation break
Lovely hotel. Restaurant and food was good. Breakfast had a huge selection. All the staff were very pleasant anfd helpful. The bedroom has a huge bed and modern bathroom. The television had Sky Sports channels but no teletex.
The Ironbridge gorge is 5.5 miles drive around various roundabouts. There is a marvelous shopping centre about 5 miles from the hotel.

Excellent Stay
We had two days at the hotel, what a great place to explore the beauty of Shropshire from. Everything was good from plenty of parking to the facilities and the surrounding views of the gorge. Very child friendly and comfortable .
both days we attended breakfast quite late on a weekday to find plenty of food left. Everything was great apart from the cooked food that was somewhat tired! eggs yolks very hard, skin on beans, luke warm, etc.
