OK for a short stay, but not that impressive for a 4 star hotel
OK for a short stay, but not that impressive for a 4 star hotel. The rooms were quite small and did not have any wardrobes, which is ok if youre only staying for a couple of days. The gym consisted of only 3 pieces of equipment, and the sauna was tiny. Breakfast was excellent though.

Good hotel
I stayed at the Radisson SAS hotel in Tromso the weekend of August 21st. Surprisingly, there was a Hells Angel convention/meeting of some kind there at the same time, but no problems with the bikers at the hotel whatsover. Bizarrely (at least for this American) in Scandinavia hotels will often assign rooms with two single beds for couples. Ive had this experience in Scandinavia before, and when we checked into our room, we found that there were two single beds as opposed to one queen as we requested. We went back and a room with a queen size bed was assigned. We discovered late in the night of our first of two nights there that the TV did not work. When we informed them of this problem, we were told that the only solution would be to change rooms, and due to having switched rooms once already, as well as a desire not to be delayed, we elected to deal without TV. As with most of Europe, and very especially Scandinavia, everything is overpriced. The hotel restaurants (a pizza bar and a Norwegian restaurant) are described with superlatives, but frankly I wasnt impressed, and they were quite expensive. Nevertheless, they are right there if you dont want to walk too far from the hotel. The included breakfast was quite good, and I had no problems with it. The hotel comes with wi-fi included which is a nice benefit of staying there. The location of the hotel is very convenient, with the airport bus stopping in front of the hotel (note for tourists, the bus service doesnt beging until 10:30 in the morning on Sundays and holidays). As Tromso is not that big, almost everything worth seeing is walking distance from the hotel. All in all, considering that this is Scandinavia, I consider the hotel satisfactory for the price.

Good location and breakfast
Breakfast was great. Location for activities was perfect. Some picked up in front of the hotel, and others were a 5-minute walk to a meeting place. Everything else was easily within walking distance.
