Dont fall for breakfast...
We spent a week in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and assisted with booking tours. It is a long walk from the old center, though convenient to the train station. The neighborhood around the hotel is not very attractive and there is a gambling/betting hall across the street that was very seedy. The pictures are fairly accurate, though you will only get that rooftop view if you book one of the suites. The one really negative was breakfast. We had it on the first day there before we found some of the nice cafes. It is not included (which we knew) but we came to find out upon checkout that it was 36 Euro/person. For a buffet! $108 for a buffet breakfast for 2 is criminal. Left us with a really bad impression of the place. Also, insist on signing for everything you charge to the room. There were lots of charges (included an extra breakfast) on the room that we had to argue to get removed...
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Reserve ahead (about a month) for the Accademia (David) and the Uffizi. Rick Steves Florence and Tuscany guidebook has all of the info to do so. Youll be glad you did!

Nice Hotel but Old and Not Convenient
This is an older hotel on the outer edge of the tourist district. The hotel seemed virtually empty. We only saw a few guests the whole 2 days we were there. The lobby was deserted most of the time. Breakfast was included and was excellent. We ate at the hotel for dinner one night and it was great, service was great too. Its not a bad place, just a little beyond its prime and a little ways away from the action. You can walk to the action but it is somewhat of a hike.

Beautiful Hotel but Nowhere to Eat
The service at the hotel was outstanding, and the hotel was beautiful. But there was little to eat nearby and the hotel food was extremely expensive--so I ate little for the five days we stayed there.
