An excellent business hotel
My husband and I were pleased with our stay Pullman Bordeaux Aqutania. It was only footsteps away from his conference at the Conference Center. We knew it wasnt close to the center of Bordeaux but his conference was more important. We had reserved a lake side executive room but the room did not have a bath tub. Having a bath tub is mandatory for my personal enjoyment of a hotel room and we opted to a lesser quality room to get this feature. What astounds me is the staff did NOT tell us IF we upgraded to a suite (minor cost that we did later), we could have both a shower and bath tub. No matter what, the beds were extremely comfortable in both a lower quality room and the suite that we had later in our five day stay. Overall, the staff was very helpfull. We were disappointed in the hours of the restaurant but were rather pleased with the bar food that we could get when it was not open. For breakfast, we had few options over than hotel. The staff made up for this is their service that was far superior to the evening staff. While the distance to city of Bordeaux is a huge disadvange, we easily found a good underground parking garage that was easy to use. While we prefere to walk to distinations when we travel, it wasnt a huge hassle to park and enjoy the city of Bordeaux. Overall, we would give HIGH ranking to the Pullmans quality of cost effective suites, the staff and the beds.
Dont be afraid of driving in Bordeaux. Finding a parking garage is easy to do as is finding your way back to our hotel outside the confines of the city. JUST dont do it during rush hour when it can be highway gridlock

Would definitely recommend
We stayed here as a stopover on our way from Beziers to St.Malo. We had planned to pop into Bordeaux for an evening dinner but once the children had discovered the pool and my brother and I had discovered the wine list, we put our feet up and stayed in for the evening! The food was excellent and the dinner service excellent however, it did feel slightly stuffy.

Poor Location/Re-purposed Office Building
The location of this hotel in Bordeaux, on a map, appeared to be near the road to go out to the vineyards north of town. It was difficult to get off and on the freeway from the front of the hotel and you invariably have to turn around to go to the entrance because you will have taken dead-end streets. Its by the lake, which is nice, but unless thats all you plan on doing in Bordeaux (and it wont be) youre going to find yourself wishing youd stayed somewhere else. It appears that the building used to be an office building that was re-purposed to be a hotel next to what seemed like a somewhat new small casino, a restaurant and another hotel or two. To its credit, the hotel interior was very nicely decorated. The facade makes it seem like its an entirely different place than the inside, which is a little strange, to me. When I return to Bordeaux I will stay either further out towards the wine estates or right in town where there is a lot more restaurants and attractions. There is almost nothing a tourist would want to do near this hotel.
