Save cost, Yes - but
The positive was it is less expensive than others. Though the room was very small; the ironing board was no bigger than a note book; surrounding neighborhood has no resturants near by; and very difficult parking.

BAD!!
Before I booked this hotel on Expedia.com, I did plenty of researches regarding this Long Island Days Inn. There were very good reviews but also bad ones as well. The good reviews made me booked this hotel with only a little cocern. When we actually got to hotel, the room was small, air condition smells, the door lock was not working very well. But the worst thing is not the noises from Subway 7 trains, it was the street, cars, trucks, buses, and taxi cabs. They horned the entire time we were in the room, I couldn’t sleep even with the window closed. The location of the hotel is just bad. It located in the middle of two busiest streets in Long Island City. Front desk service is even worse, it seemed like they didn’t care if we were there or not.

Great value 10 minutes from Manhattan
We stayed here on Marathon weekend. Hotels in Manhattan were 4 times the price. We were very satisfied with the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was basic but good, there was free internet access, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The noise from traffic is loud but I guess it’s New York, it’ll be like that anywhere. The staff were quite friendly but seemed to lack local knowledge, perhaps we were asking the wrong questions.. For value in New York and relative proximity to Manhattan, I think it’d be hard to beat this hotel
