Decent
Hotel room was clean but the building and surrounding neighborhood had an older feel. Close to public transportation but not too close to most tourist attractions.

250 steps to the pool...
That’s how many steps it took to get from our room to the hotel. The other annoying feature of this hotel is that you have to take two elevators to get from the street to the lobby to your room. The lobby smells like airfreshener- if you are sensitive to smells, this might drive you crazy. An interesting feature of the hotel is that off the lobby is a ’secret’ tunnel that leads to a ’secret’ elevator that leads to the street right next to Macy’s and coffee shops. I say ’secret’ because all three times my husband and I made the trek through this hallway, we never saw another soul. I would never travel this path alone. Someone could jump out at you from the many corners and dark recesses, but it was sort of an adventure for us! All in all, this is not a Hyatt in the true sense- no hottub, pool is way too far from the rooms, and the bed was lousy. Not a shabby hotel, but not 4 star, that’s for sure.
Definitely take the kids to Boston Commons- it is a beautiful park and just walking through on a nice day is a great, inexpensive activity for everyone. Also, in the north end, you have to have the cannolis from Modern Pastry...the sometimes 30 minute wait is well worth it!

Not satisf ed because of the location
Reason I would not recommend this hotel is the location. I would not want to go out of the hotel after dark and I would not go out early in the morning because of the location. Going down the street was not pleasant. I am in Boston quite often and would difinately stay at another hotel.
