Hard to find high quality hotel
The Shanghai Nanpu is a good quality mid range hotel. The hotel rooms were small but well maintained. Recommended at the price. The taxi driver I asked did not know where it was, not helped by the fact that the hotel is called Summit Nanpu not Rayfont, its old name. Easy access from Nanpu Bridge Subway, exit 3 and follow the footpath around to your left under Nanpu Bridge access ramp, crossing in sight of South Bund Soft Spinning Market. The hotel is the second building directly behind the fabric market.

Great hotel but not the best location for sightseeing
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and found it modern and most importantly very clean and comfortable. Delux room is a must as standard room can only be described as a ’matchbox’ with toilet and shower literally next to your bed! Not near any underground stations and not within walking distance of any of the major sights, however taxi fares are a couple of quid so never gonna break the bank if your on a budget! Staff have limited English however not for the want of trying and we got by. Overall would recommend this hotel to those who are on a budget but who are not willing to comprimise on standard of a modern 4 star hotel. Those who are less energetic spend more and look for a hotel on Nanjing Road.
