Great triple room!
There were 3 of us travelling and their triple room was by far the largest we stayed in the entire tim. There was enough room for 4 and it was very comfortable. It wasnt in the heart of downtown but it was a short bus ride to that area of town. They have a great breakfast as well. Overall, it was a great place to stay!

Heidelberg - stage 2 of our motor journey in Germany
Good location as it was very quiet but an easy walk into town via the side streets. We chose this becasue it had parking available. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was standard continental fayre and vey good. There was a nice bar area that served drinks in the evening - just what we needed before retiring to bed. We would definitely stay again.
We walked up to the ruined church on the pilgrims trail as the route goes near the hotel. It was very good and the views over the city are awesome. We tried Hemingways bar near the river. It had lots of Olde English signs inside. Tried my first glasses of German beer (served in a ceramic jug) and we had Schitzel - it was what we needed after driving in from Luxembourg.

Very good value for money
We had a huge room with a very nice large bathroom. No lift but the staff offered to help carry up our cases. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Only 5 minutes walk through a pleasant street to the tram which took us straight to the centre of town. Only thing is it would have been nice if the Hotel could have sold us Heidelberg cards. They were only available from the tourist office which was closed at the week-ends. Because we could not get cards we spent more than we expected on transport and visits - and Germany is already very, very expensive for the English visitor.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Plan your journey so you start at the tourist office when it is open, and get your cards before you do anything else.
