A good base
A good base for a holiday in Trapani. It might be worthwhile the Abita Appartimenti illuminating their sign as we walked passed it as the street it is on is only labelled at one end. The apartments (we stayed in the annexe) were clean and tidy. With a little more attention to detail they could be superb. It would be nice to have all the crockery matching and some wine glasses. The management were extremely friendly and we would stay there again.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
To get the most out of your stay do treat Trapani for what it is a working port. Hence lots of character.

Great Spot
Excellent location near the port so very close to buses and ferries as well as restaurants etc. Lovely terrace area to sit out and relax in. We stayed in D1 which was quite a big apartment. on the ground floor. The staff were extremely helpful - as we were leaving very early the next am we were going to organize a taxi which they offered to do for us but suggested we should just take the bus and directed us to the stop which is a 5 minute walk. They also brought over some breakfast supplies for us that evening so we would have something to eat & drink before we left. This I thought was a very thoughtful gesture. I would stay here again.
If you are staying a Saturday night in Trapani and you have a restaurant in mind that would like to eat in then best to book a table as the most popular places are really busy on Saturday night!

Ideal located for short stay
We were housed around the corner from the main building in Casa Marinella (I think!). Charming traditional building in a quiet traditional part of the old port area but the location was just a short walk to the harbour, a pleasant beach and shops, restaurants etc. We were given a self contained apartment which was pretty basically furnished and had a tiny kitchen but had acertain traditionasl charm. It was fine for the two nights we stayed. The air con was great but there some annoying problems like the toilet flush not always working (had to keep trying untill it eventualy flushed) and the front door lock jamming and locking us out! The door was fairly quickly sorted so not a major problenm but annoying all the same - especially when having carried bags up the steep steps, having to go to the main reception down the road etc etc. Good breakfast in nice quant courtyard. Staff pleasant enough and reasonably helpful. Overall, great location, not luxurious but balanced by the traditional feel; I would recommend it as a good place for a short stay - or as we used it, a stopover from the airport to our main destination - San Vito.
Turn right when you come out of the entrance, take first left and walk straight (towards what looks like a gated entrance to a courtyard) for a couple of hundred metres. The gate leads to a nice beach, with safe swimming and short walk to a small fort. Easy to miss but only 2 minutes walk away!
