Would recommend

The Mercure Strasbourg Hotel was clean, light and comfortable. Staff very friendly and efficient. We had a problem with the air conditioning in the room, whilst we were out for a few hours the problem was resolved. The hotel is central to the Cathedral, Petite France, restaurants, so you do not require any form of transport.

The Cathedral, but avoid eating near it, as expensive. Petite France Go to Guttenberg Square, there are plenty of places to eat, resonably priced. Go on a Boat Trip, costs 8 euros and lasts over an hour, it takes you right around the river. There are three nice restaurants by the river, we ate in the middle one called Au Fantassin, the steak was delicious.

not as good as expected but very good location

the rooms are smaller than the photos suggest and the ones at the end of the corridor have only a small window, the chamber maids knock your door at 10 am and order you out in five minutes,...but shower is great...bed okay...excellent location,,,,small reception area.....no room service arrived for breakfast...and tea and coffee not replaced after first night.....appears to be a free mini bar as it was not added to my bill, nor was it restocked during my stay.....nice receptionists.....shampoos etc are of the very very cheap variety.....

ask for a room with a normal window, not room 415 where I stayed....I would stay again here but for the excellent location....I arrived for breakfast at 10-30 on News Years Day, and was turned away too late,..but promised a tray would be taken to my room....it never came...nor was there any tea or coffee...even the small mini bar was empty ...only one english TV channel BBC world..

OK but not great

How this hotel got 3 stars is a mistery to me. The rooms are clean but the overall impression is that of a reconverted prison. View non-existing, services over-charged (7.50 euros for 1h internet access, 15 euros for putting the car in the hotel car park - reason given "we, ourselves, are renting this space"). The hotel has no character to speak off an no special feature that deserves, to my mind the number of stars it has. In short, OK but not great.
