Central, substantial, safe & friendly!

From the greeting at Reception and the smooth registration process this hotel is a gem, certainly NOT a series of modern boxes! The hotel layout, public rooms (and garden) and private rooms were a delight. All facilities were as advertised and breakfast choice and amounts (at all times and over 5 days) were as substantial as wanted. Very close to all the central area in the Old Town & square (and St Olav’s Church - climable for great views of the city and harbour area) with 24 hour Reception staff, all of whom were attentive. It is really hard to fault any element of the stay and would certainly return as a base to stay in Tallin - or further afield, as we took a 24 hour trip to Riga (Latvia) by the simplest means - 4.5 hour bus journey, booking a 1 night stay there - must be done, excellent!!!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Do use the hop on hop off city bus as a means of finding exactly what there is on offer - the journey takes you out of the city confines. Save money and enjoy a more select (quality) range of eating/drinking establishments just out of the main Square, as the choices are extensive. The architecture is outstanding and the whole city was without any trace of litter throughout and safety seemed assured. Overall it was a tremendous experience!

gothic

our stay in the st. Olav was lovley, the dining room the best we have eaten in, and even though we had read reports of the walls being thin, we found no such thing. it was wonderful, and we would certainly go again.

the choice of food on offer was amazing, no-one needed to go hungry
