Great looking hotel, let down by the service
Stayed at this hotel for two nights and the upgrade to a Junior Suite we paid for just didnt seem worth it. The hotel looks great, and the room clean, with really good views of the London Eye, but the service youd expect just wasnt up to scratch for a 4* hotel of that size. Little things just added together for poor customer service: We reported to reception that our shower flooded the bathroom everytime we used it and nothing was done. The suite came with access to an Exec Lounge which, when asked where this was, the member of staff said he didnt know and left us to search for ourselves. We found the Lounge for breakfast ourselves and the selection was great. However, lack of staff meant that none of the tables had been cleared from previous guests. Had to sit at a dirty table and ask for cutlery after a wait. Asked for tea and toast and it never arrived. The waiters seemed more concerned with other things than the guests they were meant to be serving. On departure the bill was wrong with extra charges that the receptionist should have picked up on when billing for a suite. Oh, and the fire alarm went off accidentally at 5am in the morning - leaving you just enough time to wake up and get half changed into clothes to leave the room before turning off again! All in all a great looking hotel, but def let down by the lack of attention paid on customer service.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dont wait on the lifts! If your room is on one of the lower floors youll be quicker taking the stairs than waiting on the lifts that can take a long time at busy periods - check in and check out.
