Refurbished and lovely
Very helpful staff (we checked in early to change for a wedding) - refurbished and very comfortable room. Excellent.

Excellent location, friendly, all round good!
This was an excellent place. Clean, friendly, good rooms. Service was a little slow at breakfast, but food was very good - so worth the wait.

pleasant hotel and great for access to hathersage and the peaks
Potentially this is a really very good hotel. Recently refurbished to a good standard the room was very clean, contemporary and well appointed. Dinner in the bar was distinctly average and tasted like left overs from Sunday lunch. Breakfast was much better and the dining room, now open, was very pleasant. The real problem was the staff. they were not quite friendly, not quite helpful. The bar staff were quite surly. We got the distinct impression that the staff all felt unhappy and didn’t really want to be there. It could have been wonderful but as it was it was simply perfectly acceptable.
