A hidden gem
We stayed at the Hotel Aurora for four nights. It was a great location on the island of Ortygia; a bit off the beaten path, but on a big, quiet street, 1-2 minutes walk from the main square, and right by the water. The hotel is beautiful, very traditional. Everyone on the staff was extremely helpful and friendly; we had to make a few emergency phone calls to the US and they showed us how to make the calls and let us use the phone at the front desk. They gave good restaurant recommendations and directions, and seemed thoroughly interested in our day whenever we returned back to the hotel. This was a truly relaxing vacation, we will definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to Syracusa!

Charming place!
What a lovely location! balcony overlooking the sea, lovely decor and clean room. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Oritigia is a lovely lovely place had we known we would have stayed there longer. Would definately stay here again.
