planning to returning to stay at this hotel in May

Hotel and room were clean. Service was excellent- staff was very helpful and polite. The area the hotel is located in is close to the interstate, restaurants, nature trails.

Standard Motel

Nice place-nothing special. Only problem the had smoking and non-smoking rooms on the same floor and I found it hard to believe the smoke smell on the end of the floor with smoking.

Be sure to take the Sky Line Drive in the Blue Ridge Mtns. Late May-early June is best, but September is very close.

Convenient, well-run facility worth the money

Location is excellent for touring historic sites and getting downtown Charlottesville. Although it is an older motel, it is a well-run facility that meets all the needs of a busy traveler. Continental breakfast has good menu selection and is well run.

Great - but hard to find

Hotel convenient to restaurants, Monticello and a comfortable nice place - especially for the price.Only negative - hotel needs better signage so you can find it from the highway since it sits on a little hill.

Very Comfortable!

We were only there one night, everything was very nice & clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was much better then most "continental" breakfasts, with eggs & sausage. Would stay there again.

Fine for a night...

We went to Charlottesville for one night to see Bruce Springsteen at UVA. This hotel was easy to find, clean, and fairly convenient to the concert arena. There was a hotel across the street from the arena...when I saw the craziness going on there, I was so glad I was away from it. Note that this hotel is in a place where you can not walk to anything at all. You will have to drive to get to UVA or any other part of historic Charlottesville.

Comfort at Monticello

I found the Comfort Inn Monticello recommended on Trip Advisor. We are from the greater Seattle area and had a road trip planned with our son in DC to see Monticello and drive part of the Blue Ridge Drive. We arrived at Monticello late in the afternoon, we able to check in a little early, tour Monticello and enjoy a nice breakfast the next day before driving on to Yorktown. We would stay here again.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

We left Fairfax, VA about 9am, spent an hour or so on the Blue Ridge drive, stopped for a late lunch along the way before checking into the hotel. Enjoyed Monticello very much. Our tour group was small (about 12) during mid-week on a cloudy day in late April.

Good for us

The location was easy access to both I64 and the downtown area of Charlottesville...we stayed on a weekday night during the holidays so neither traffic nor availability was a factor. Was perfect for our purposes of a quick pass through from Richmond to Lexington.... seeing UVa and Monticello were a pleasure!

A great value

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the free breakfast buffet was outstanding. In addition, this was a great location for easy access to the highway without feeling like you are on the highway since it is set back in a wooded area.

Good value

The accomodations were as good or better than expected for the rates received. Location and distances to attractions were as advertised. Would stay there again.

Okay for one night.

Our room had a strange odor and the air conditioner did not work properly. It was controlled by outside temp and would automatically cut off.

Traveller's tip on dining

We had a particularly wonderful experience at the Aberdeen Barn restaurant. The prime rib was spectacular!

Not impressed

For the price paid for the room, I was surprised at the condition. The door to the bathroom was badly worn and in need of upkeep. The staff, however, were friendly and since we didn’t spend much time at the hotel, it met our needs for this trip.

Nice stopover

We were able to have a quiet room in the back (quiet is critical to us). The pool was nice. The breakfast was definitely above average. We would stay here again.

comfy and clean

Our room was comfortable and clean. The only negative was the comforter which looked like it hadn’t been washed in a while. Our bathroom was clean as well. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of food and drinks to choose from.

Good Location

This is a nicely run hotel. The staff is very friendly and professional. I travel a lot and that’s rare to see. Also, this is a good place to stay if you are going to Monticello, anywhere in Fluvanna county, etc.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

This is the best place on the southeastern side of the greater Charlottesville area.

Good Base for Exploring Charlottesville

The Comfort Inn is conveniently located at the junction of two major highways: Monticello and the University of Virginia are each about 10 minutes drive away. Our room was quiet and well maintained. The breakfast included was so generous that we did not need to eat lunch later in the day. Staff at the front desk were helpful; the woman assisting in the breakfast room needed training in how to interact with the public, however. The one drawback - there is no access to Internet in the lobby area.

Service was the best part

An average motel experience, nothing special, but the service was excellent. Friendly helpful front desk staff. The complementary breakfast buffet was above average and above what was expected.
