A nice weekend away
Very near the beautiful Central Station and the Diamond District, so it is easy after arrival by Eurostart to drop your bags and head out again. The hotel is very modern, clean and very quiet (a good night sleep is very important for me). If you are used to a bit of walking you can walk pretty much everywhere, e.g. the town centre with it’s pretty market square. On our 2 day sightseeing weekend we never used any public transport. Breakfast was not included in the hotel price. There is a lovely coffee shop/organic deli right next to the hotel with a wide variety of breakfast and other dishes. My tip: Check your hotel bill. They tried to charge us for things we did not have e.g. for an umbrella which we borrowed and returned as well as for breakfast we never had. Still we ended up paying city tax, which I would have thought should be included in the price(?)!!

Don’t miss Ruben’s House. The house where the famous painter lived. Well worth a visit.

Good hotel, not great location
The hotel is pretty good, and only about a 5-10 minute walk from the station. However it is away from the town centre. Currently (Dec 2008) the area in front of the hotel is a building site. Once complete, the area will be the dropping off point for the TGV station (good for access, possibly bad for noise).
