Great room in a perfect location
The Garden Palace doesn’t appear in most of the guidebooks probably because it only opened in 2007. We enjoyed our stay greatly. The hotel is beautifully appointed with helpful and friendly staff and is in a really great location right in the middle of the old town. Our deal included breakfast which was a good buffet.
Don’t bother with taxis to and from the airport. if you’re going to the old town. The number 22 bus runs every 20 minutes or so and only costs 0.5 Lat (about 70p) per person. (It also stops about 20 yards from the Garden Palace Hotel. )

Great place to stay in the old part of Riga. Blackheads House is just opposite!
We really liked this hotel, excellent food, courteous staff. Noise on some nights though from a nearby bar / nightclub which was annoying and disruptive. Inappropriate music at breakfast - too loud; but they turned it off when we asked them to ! The advantages outweighed that disadvantage. Good value for money and though our deal was b&b, if you eat lunch or dinner at the hotel you get 20% discount off the food.

not bad
great location in old town very clasical design though the room was small and very basic very clean through out very good prices for this location and even the mini bar was very keenly priced the same as local bars in the room there was a list of bars that you should not go to which i taught was a an excelent idea as there is some bad areas that people should know about
when traveling in riga always use the red taxis these are the cheapest and also the best there is some good places to eat and drink and always take advise from the people in these as there is alot out to rip you off there is a good irish pub in the old town with a great selection of food during the day
