Good but definitely not 5 out of 5.

Dirt road leading to the hotel for a long distance. Had we gotten there at night I don’t think we could have found the hotel/resort. Room was dirty. Paint or tomato sauce all over the walls and mirrors. Fridge was very dirty when we arrived. They came and cleaned the fridge immediately. They offered to paint the room but they said it would smell really bad. Then they offered to give us another room on the lower level. We didn’t want to move after unpacking everything. The staff was really nice and helpful. Concierge was quite helpful. The chef cooked us very good meals. Pools were nice. I felt I couldn’t trust the rates given by this hotel for various activities listed in their brochure. A lot of times, for a given activity suggested by the hotel every time I called I got a new rate. Sometimes I could negotiate the rate or just get it a lot cheaper without any help from the hotel. e.g. 35% off one activity. Saved hundreds by making reservations for a private boat myself. etc

Beautiful place to stay right on the Sea of Cortez

This resort is nearly new (and still under construction in some parts) and lives up to its promise to create an upscale experience on the Cabo corridor. While there are a few missing components (no spa or work-out room yet; dirt road as an entrance) the villas and amenities more than make up for it. The furnishings are first class, and the resort itself is situated right on the crashing coastline of the Sea of Cortez. I highly recommend this place!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure to request Phase 1 villas, which have an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. All rooms have an ocean view and patio, and you are far from the construction noise.

construction

front lobby check in staff not friendly, however all other staff very nice. Food not very good. Nice vista views. Very loud construction noise. Located down a long unpaved dirt road. I go to Cabo more than ten times per year and would not stay at this hotel again as many other resorts are much better in all areas.
