PALOMAR ARLINGTON
Hotel one of the best we have stayed in. We got an upgrade as we were staying a week. Room huge and very comfortable. Staff excellent. We did not eat in hotel as quite pricey but there are a few places nearby for breakfast.

Great location convenient to Georgetown
Got a great last minute rate on Expedia and the Palomar far exceeded expectations. Awesome location near Rosslyn metro made it easy to get to/from DCA, georgetown, an downtown. Room was good size, very comfortable, good view even from low floor. We were directly opposite the elevator but were never bothered by noise. Free wine bar from 5-6 was nice perk. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. First stay at a Kimpton property will not be our last

Poor view from room.
This hotel was lovely and the staff were very polite, but the fact that our room had a six foot high cement wall two feet from our bedroom window left a lot to be desired. On top of that, the people in the office building next door was able to look down into our room, meaning we had to keep the curtain closed at all times in order to have any privacy. The air conditioner was loud and often woke me up during the night when it turned on. The food was excellent and the bar and patio were quite a delight. Service was also excellent. Not sure I would try this hotel again.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
This hotel made it easy to get to the local attractions on the other side of the river. Subway was only two blocks away and easy to use. People are friendly and if they see you have a map they will come over and try to help you.
