Good stay ruined by surprise costs
I was absolutely shocked to see a $10 internet acess fee, having never even been warned about a cost for the 24 hour access code. I have stayed in countless hotels ranging from over $400 per night down to $50 per night... but until now I had never paid $15 for a single martini.... WOW. Too bad such a nice place had to nickel & dime my appreciation into regret.

A hotel for conferences - not a leiasure visit
I spent a night at the Sheraton Atlanta Downtown, my first visit to Atlanta and my purpose was visiting the city on my way for to a conference. The room was clean and nice and I ordered room service and the food was ok and quickly delivered. This hotel has a strange layout - and the lobby is "off" from everything else. You have to walk pretty far to get to the elevators to get to the rooms - through the conference areas. It feels its more like a conference hotel than a hotel you would like to spend a night as a tourist in Atlanta. The conference rooms are conveniently located at street level or close by - but as a guest you have to pass through the conference areas to even get to the elevators. The restaurant has a "canteen" feel and is hard to locate - in the opposite corner than the elevators for a room with limited signs. The hotel is located very close to the highway and in a very boring area. Its about a 10-15 minute walk to Centennial Park, but if you in Atlanta to sightsee and visit - its a bit too off. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but then, it wasnt nothing special either.
