Standard, modern businesslike hotel, very acceptable

Very clean, perfectly located hotel. Near old gothic centre including squares, cafes, old churches, covered market - ideal for touristic wanderings. Very pretty area and good views if on top floor. Hotel is built above a massive (seriously enormous)underground car park. Pro: Easy, accessible parking. Con: Expect to pay separate, city centre rate, parking prices overnight. Took a cheap Expedia deal for 2 double rooms - one for my child and one for myself and partner. What we found on arrival was an appartment suite consisting of two connected rooms, one with a small kitchen, and the other with the bathroom. The room room with the kitchen was set up as a lounge, not with a full bed but with a convertible double sofa bed. I’m not complaining because this suited us, but watch out that what you actually get. This might also be a tad embarrassing for business travellers booking two rooms cheaply and expecting a little more privacy.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

1. Fascinating medieval old church on facing road - can almost walk past it. 2. Covered fish, cheese, and vegetable market, plus fantastic delicatessen items, one street away. The place to buy your souvenirs, if your journey home is not too hot for them to survive.

Would be happy to return

Large clean room with adjoining sitting room and kitchenette. (Overpriced mini-bar as is the norm.) Very clean bathroom with great shower. Quiet and cool at night. (The windows open if you need fresh air) Welcoming and helpful staff who obviously spoke English but tolerated my French! Hotel was happy to look after bags following our check out so we could wander about Toulouse ’bag-free’ before heading for the airport. Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the Airport Shuttle Bus. Right in the centre of Toulouse. A great base for exploring this great city. Only criticism is the decor in the bar area... it’s a design disgrace but very funny... thankfully rooms are not in same ’style’. Didn’t eat in hotel so cannot comment.

Traveller's tip on dining

Van Gogh Cafe just around the corner on place Saint-Georges. the set menu is great value and an absolute feast. Get down to the bars on the river.
